It Begins with 6bb80c…
As evacuations are starting from Ukraine, one thing rings true. In order to be able to move, feed themselves, and survive, those on both sides of the conflict need access to finances.
There are no winners in war times and the ones who suffer the most are the people. The very nature of the crypto community, starting with the thing that started it all, Bitcoin, is about the people. How do we make life better? How do we do things better? It is all right here, in the blockchain.
When things get tough, the crypto community joins together to show their support. Is it perfect? No – but nothing ever is.
Freedom and Decentralization
What bitcoin does, is stand for freedom. It provides an alternative way to feed those in need, in literal and figurative terms, when corruption tries to take over, blocking the people from the things that they need to survive. Bitcoin’s nature of decentralization takes away the monetary control from corrupt governments and allows people the choice to find an alternative or to be choked off from their financial resources.
Alex Mashinsky, CEO and founder of Celsius Network has been one of the leaders of the crypto community who has been a spokesperson for the events and people in Ukraine from the beginning. He recently announced a safe and controlled address for people who want to make an ETH or BTC donation on Twitter. Together with the country of Ukraine, they have raised more than $52 million through digital currency.
