Grit is Gala Games brand new Web3 NFT game that will be coming to the infamous game store, Epic.
Grit, for me, gives off a Westworld vibe, where the player is immersed in a dry western landscape fighting for survival from bandit raids, saloon shoot outs, or on a wild train chase as a lone rider or a member of a band of outlaws consisting of the most wanted cowboys. Users will be able to explore towns beyond the plains with their customizable character and trusty steed.
Throughout, players will need to build their poker hand for weapons and perks for a better shot at staying alive and patch your wounds. Grit is quite literally next generation of gameplay and will be the first of many to take a step in the growth of technology. With Grit being the first blockchain game on the Epic Games store, developer of Unreal Engine and Fortnite, brings another level of legitimacy to blockchain gaming.
Epic has been a pioneer in the video game industry that has had an open mind to Web3 and blockchain gaming. The partnership between Epic Games and Gala Games is a big win for this genre. “Easy access to Web3 games is a turning point for those players who have not yet seen how digital ownership can enrich the gaming experience” said Gala Games President John Osvald.
Epic Games was founded in 1991 by one man, Tim Sweeney. Once Sweeney had collected a team of creators, in 1994, they began the project – Unreal. This project led to the legendary game Doom 2, with never-before seen 3D effects. Today, Epic’s Unreal Engine is pronounced as “the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool” for some (or should I say most) of the highest well-known games in 2022. With the Gala + Epic partnership, Grit is being built using Unreal Engine version 4.27, giving what may be the best in-game effects a F2P Web3 game could have in today’s world.
GRIT is “Coming Soon” in Epic Games store. Fans can Wishlist the free game, launching later in 2022.
